While I was on the Dropbox Commenting team, I worked on evolving the comment section on a file preview, and designed the first evolution of Dropbox file annotations.
The goal really fascinated me; keeping the conversation and feedback right where file lives—not in a separate email thread or chat. We saw a huge opportunity to help our users make collaboration a lot easier and faster.
The design work had really fun challenges. Some include creating an intuitive comment ordering, introducing comment threads, creating a consistent interaction across all kinds of file types, annotation contrast visibility on top of unpredictable backgrounds, highlighting accessibility, visualizing comment status, etc.
